Updated 19 September 2026Who we are
8 Empire Projects is a trading name of FINE LINE CARPENTRY LTD, company number 14816801. We are responsible for personal information collected through this website. Registered office: 80 Stanhope, Dagenham, Dagenham, Conwy, United Kingdom, RM8 3DJ.
Enquiries
When you submit an enquiry, we receive your name, email, optional telephone number, project location, service, preferred timing and the details you provide. We use these to respond, discuss your requirements and take steps towards a potential contract at your request. Please do not include sensitive information or information about other people unless necessary.
The form sends your details to [email protected] through our Fasthosts email service. The enquiry form does not send its contents to our AI provider. A reference and limited technical submission data help us prevent duplicate messages and abuse. A successful submission confirms acceptance by the email service, not a booking or agreed quotation.
AI assistant
If you choose to send a chat message, its contents and recent conversation context are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. The AI is optional; you can call or use the enquiry form instead. We use this service in our legitimate interests to help visitors understand our services and prepare enquiries. Do not enter payment details, passwords, medical information or other sensitive data.
Chat history is held in the current browser page and is cleared when you start a new chat or reload. Our application does not save chat transcripts to its database. We request that API responses are not stored as retrievable responses; this does not prevent OpenAI from retaining data for security, abuse monitoring or legal purposes under its policies. See OpenAI's privacy policy. The assistant does not make binding pricing, booking or other significant decisions about you.
Website and security data
Our hosting and security systems process technical information including IP addresses, request times, requested resources and browser information to deliver and protect the website. Application rate-limit records use a daily hashed IP identifier. We rely on legitimate interests in operating a secure website and preventing abuse.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which involves your browser contacting Google and sharing connection information such as your IP address. External links are subject to the destination site's own privacy practices.
Recipients and international processing
Information is processed by our hosting, email and, when used, AI providers for the purposes above. We do not sell your information. Service providers may process information outside the UK; applicable contractual safeguards and their processing arrangements govern these transfers. Contact us if you need more information about the providers or safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request, any resulting project, and applicable accounting, legal or dispute requirements. The period depends on whether your enquiry becomes a project. Contact us to ask about or request deletion of a particular enquiry.
Technical enquiry records are scheduled for removal after 30 days; AI rate-limit records after 35 days. Routine cleanup runs daily. Restricted server backups are kept for up to seven daily copies; deleted technical records may remain in those copies until they expire. Server logs are rotated separately for operational security.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is used, you can withdraw it. Contact [email protected]. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
